Faculty Resources >> Preparing Your Class for a TaskStream workshop

To ensure your class' TaskStream workshop is a success, keep these helpful hints in mind:

  • Students should already have a TaskStream account - Students should already have their accounts when they show up to the computer lab for the workshop. The workshop facilitator is happy to answer questions about signing up, but will not delay the workshop for people to subscribe to TaskStream (about a 15 minute process).

  • Faculty should already have a TaskStream account - Faculty will need TaskStream accounts in order to provide feedback and evaluations of their students' work. Faculty at the College of Education are eligible for free TaskStream subscriptions. To get your subscription, complete the request form or contact Chris Geanious directly (928-523-9434).

  • Meet with the workshop facilitator - Faculty are encouraged to arrange an initial consultation with the TaskStream workshop facilitator before their class' workshop. It is important to meet sometime before the workshop in order to determine the specific needs of your class. Contact Chris Geanious to arrange a pre-workshop consultation (928-523-9434).

  • Time your class' TaskStream workshop strategically - Most students are required to upload one artifact for each education course they are enrolled in. The TaskStream workshop should be scheduled around the point in the semester when your class will be completing their signature artifact.

  • Do your students need a TaskStream workshop? - As TaskStream becomes more widespread at NAU's College of Education, instructors will find that increasing numbers of your students have already been through TaskStream training. Ask the students in your class how many have already received TaskStream training; they may have already taken the workshop in a previous course.

Increasingly, instructors are choosing to have their students receive TaskStream training via online resources from the Student Resources section of this website rather than attending a face-to-face TaskStream workshop. If you have any questions about web-based TaskStream training, please contact Chris Geanious.
